The Activity Based Usage allows infrequent users of TriNet Expense Management to utilize the application and only be charged when they submit an expense report.
Any expense report submitted by an activity based user will have an additional $15 fee per expense report submitted. We recommend to assign activity based usage to any users that may not be submitting expense reports on the monthly basis. At the end of the month, we will calculate the total of submitted expense reports (not counting any recalled reports) from the activity users and bill you for the submitted reports on your next billing period.
What is the difference between an Activity Based User vs. Subscription User?
Activity based users do not have the same permissions as subscription users. Activity users have the ability to view company policy violations when submitting their report, but they cannot view any company policy violations committed by other users when approving reports. Activity users are unable to have the role of Company Bookkeeper, Company Admin or Company Owner. Activity Users are unable to export reports to accounting softwares.
Activity Users are able to have their expense reports submitted for reimbursement to TriNet Direct Pay and TriNet Payroll, if the company has setup the integration.
If your user requires all of the permissions above, then we recommend setting up this user with the subscription user type. You can learn more about how to setup an employee with the subscription user type by reviewing this page.
