TriNet Expense's time module allow users to enter time entries by task, project, client, location, department, note and its billable state. Time entries then get accumulated into a timesheet (Time > View page) that can be submitted for approval within a company (Time > Approve page). Users with the role of Administrator or Bookkeeper can also see all timesheets entries with the entire company on the Time > Company page.
Unlike expenses, any time entry immediately creates a timesheet for that week. Timesheets are always weekly based and only one timesheet can be submitted from the user per week . If the user needs to add additional time after submitting a timesheet, the timesheet will need to be recalled and re-submitted. Additionally, once a user creates a time entry, it is accessible to anyone with the Administrator or Bookkeeper role in the company (Time > Company page).
There are three ways to enter in time:
1. Daily view
2. Weekly view
3. Clocking in / out (timer)
Time entries are dependant on a project, client or task. If your company is planning to track internal time entries, we recommend creating an internal project and client code for each time entry. You can set a user’s default project, customer, department, location and rate in the Manage User settings Page (Settings > Company Settings > Manage Users).
Timesheets can be downloaded or printed to PDF. In the future we plan to add a feature where a timesheet can be sent to your client for payment, including any billable expenses associated with the time entries.
