When the review starts and goes live, it is first distributed to all direct reports. The direct report must complete and submit his or her self review to his or her manager, in order for the manager to complete the manager review portion. While completing the manger review portion, the manager will be able to view the direct report's answers. Upon completion, the review is then scored based on the two raters, and average scores are identified.
The review report shows the individual scores for the employee and the manager and shows the different scores, side by side, to measure the gap between the two results. In many cases, the gap between the two sets of results is the topic of discussion during the face to face review.
