Job Description Box.
TriNet Applicant Tracking uses something called a WYSIYG editor to post jobs and create templates. TriNet Applicant Tracking uses “Summernote”.
Summernote is designed for you to enter text directly into it. It does not support the cut-and-paste method from a third-party application. The best way to convert the original job description is to paste it as plain text and cut and paste it in.
Here’s how to do it:
1: Open the original document in whatever format/program it’s in.
2: Copy the entire thing to your clipboard.
3: On a PC, open Notepad. On a Mac, open TextEdit.
4: If you are on a Mac, you'll need to convert the default text to plain text. Do this by holding down SHIFT, COMMAND and then pressing “T”. _ (On a PC, it just defaults to plain text - you should be fine)
5: Paste the text into the program mentioned above. Then in that program, do “Select All” and copy it again to the clipboard.
6: Paste the (now plain) text out of either Notepad or TextEdit into the Summernote editor. This will now strip out all formatting. FYI: <span> tags are not your friend.
7: Add intended formatting and save. Done.
You should immediately see the format change with everything bolded, odd carriage returns, etc… removed.
Then re-save and format within Summernote (Bold, Line Space, etc..) as you like.
Something to note:
The formatting within Summernote/TriNet Applicant Tracking will not always look identical when it gets published to one of the job boards.
Each of the job boards handle our posts a little differently and will usually strip out any excessive tags and re-style it to match their own guidelines (like Indeed). Please keep this in mind.
