The TriNet Expense team is aware that the integration with American Express is causing disruption to the workflow process for expense management. TriNet Expense utilizes a 3rd party service which connects to American Express to retrieve transactions.
The 3rd party vendor is actively speaking with American Express directly to resolve the disruption. The issue has been communicated to TriNet Expense that it is a top priority for the vendor to resolve. Unfortunately the two-factor authentication (MFA) is required by American Express and TriNet Expense and our financial vendor cannot by-pass the security requirement.
As of now the TriNet Expense team does not have an ETA of when the American Express integration issue will be resolved. The issue requires American Express to provide an update to our financial vendor as their connection relies on the structure put in place by American Express. The TriNet Expense team is communicating with the vendor often so there is urgency to resolve the issue.
Please note: Banking connections are incredibly complex, and take time to fix.
An alternative to creating transactions is by manual entry or importing the expenses via a spreadsheet. We appreciate your understanding and patience as our team continues to work on getting the issue resolved.
